Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. About the Team
The Safety, Environment and Regulation (SER) division leads policy, strategy, standards, advice and support across safety, environment, sustainability, asset management and regulatory outcomes for customers, for community and for our people (including contractors).
SER provides ‘centres of excellence’ with a critical mass of expertise to support line accountability, facilitate consistency and provide assurance across the cluster. It also delivers a range of regulatory programs
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Insights and Statistics Officer to join the Insights and Advanced Analytics team on a permanent full-time basis. Whilst we promote flexible working, there will be an expectation to work in our new offices as required, based at Macquarie Park.
The role is responsible for reporting and documentation regarding camera systems as well as providing insight and support on business initiatives through analysis, matrix creation and ongoing projects.
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Deliver key customer data analysis, performance measures and insights to the business unit and other key business stakeholders to support modelling, strategic projects and drive business recommendations and decision making.
Determine the appropriate approach for sourcing and storing required data for immediate and future team needs.
Engage stakeholders in relation to information and data gathering, report design, testing, deployment and oversee ongoing production and analysis to ensure data integrity and data quality.
Ensure data integrity and quality and to facilitate the assessment and analysis of customer information and enable key issues to be identified and cross-referenced in multiple data sources.
Oversee the troubleshooting of identified data issues, develop solutions and implement changes to data analysis models as required.
Maintain all databases and tables within database systems for use with various statistical packages to ensure data remains error free.

We are looking for someone with strong data analysis, communication, problem solving analysis and writing skills, with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines while balancing competing priorities. You will have strong statistics ability, integration and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate for this role will understand and accept the role is still in the forming phase and will view this with a strategic and creative mindset. An awareness and knowledge of manual processes and systems to move forward into a more automotive and streamlined solution approach will see this person highly successful in this role.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 8 ($118,015 - $ 132,176) per annum plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
